Froggy and Bug: Children's book coming soon!

Our first venture together has been to create a children's book. Amber made the beautiful art work and Laurel wrote the story. We are in the pre-publishing process and hope to have everything completed and sent out early next week (Nov. 5 2009).

We will give updates as to where we are in the process.

Yesterday we had our first book signing. It was so fun meeting and seeing people. Thank you to all who bought books and joined me at the library! Our next event is a book signing at the Clarksville Library on Wednesday.

Yesterday I visited Riverside Elementary in Battle Creek, MI and read Froggy and Bug to the kindergarteners and 1st graders. They seemed to like the visit. We talked about what we can do if we are being teased and don't like it. They were a lot of fun. I hope to have pictures of the even up soon. The elementary school recieved a copy of the book at the end of the day to share.

We made it to the official release date! Last night as I got home from work I found my book orders. This was the first time I got to see the book fully complete! We are so excited that we finally have a finished product. I am now ready for the book signing at Saranac Public Library.

It's official! We will have our first book signing on June 11, 2010 at the Saranac Public Library at 10:00am. I will be selling books, reading, and signing the book to kick off their summer reading program. We hope to see you there!

Well, they let me make the order I was trying to make! So now I am anxiously waiting for my books to arrive. I have met with Saranac Public Library and they would like me to do an author visit/book signing to kick off their summer reading program. I'm trying to find out information about ordering books for that event. I am waiting to hear from PA. The event will be on June 11, 2010 at 10am. We might be doing something like that with the Clarksville Library as well on the same day.

Well, I just tried to put in a small order yesterday while PA is having a special sale. We will see what happens with that. It was not working out too well for me. We may have a few books to sell soon, if this order goes through.

We just received notification that the press release went out today. We sent out releases to Grand Rapids area, Battle Creek Area, and the Alma area newspapers and television stations. This is a little wierd. I'm really excited, but there is so much going on right now that it is a little overwhelming. There were some typos in the press release but we didn't get it until after they sent it out. Oh, well, hopefully the press will forgive us. ;-)

I actually found Froggy and Bug for sale on the publisher website today. I don't even have an official release date, but it is there. I wonder if we can actually pre-order from there right now?

The changes have been made to the cover. Our contact will submit the book to printing soon. He said once it goes to printing it will take about 2 months to release. So we can begin to look for Froggy and Bug around May 2010!

Last night we received our cover design for approval. There were a couple of things that need to be changed. We sent that back right away. Hopefully I will hear by tonight about a release date. Then everyone can look for the book and we will begin promoting it.

We are still waiting to hear back from the cover design. I imagine the snow storms have slowed things down a little. We do not have a release date yet. We are still anxiously waiting to have our first endeavor together released. Hopefully we will have more information soon. The link on the home page will take you to the online store. Froggy and Bug is not there yet. We will let you know as soon as it is.

Final edits are made on the interior design, now it's off to cover design!

January 20

So I haven't heard anything from the publishing company since before Christmas. I'm starting to get nervous that this is not going to go through. I was told before Christmas that they were backed up and would get to our manuscript as soon as they could. I'm hoping to hear from them any day now.

No sooner did I post this and I got the interior layout to approve for publishing! We are so excited that we have moved on to the next step! There are just a couple of errors that I hope they will change then it will be off to print!!!

November 18

We have sent in our book for the pre-publishing. Now we wait. I believe things have been moved on to the next stage. We still have to get our author picture in, but we are trying to avoid spreading the stomache flu to each other and our families. Maybe we can get that taken care of by Thanksgiving. We can't wait until we can actually see our work in print!!!
